Packers rout the Cowboys – and Jerry Jones fires the Cowboys coach. Packers 45 – Cowboys 7.

The Green Bay Packers dominated the Cowboys on Sunday night, routing them in a 45 to 7 victory.

The Cowboys are a poor excuse for a team this year, and the Packers won a game that no one expected them to lose.
That was about as close to pure domination as a team can get, and it thrilled the 70,000+ fans at Lambeau Field.

Aaron Rodgers played lights out, finding open receivers all over the field. He passed for three touchdowns and also ran for almost 50 yards before giving way to Matt Flynn in the fourth quarter who came in for mop-up duty.

The packers Defense was dominant for the second game in a row, and the charge was led by last year’s defensive MVP Charles Woodson and one of this year’s top candidates for the award, Clay Matthews. The kickoff unit also provided a spark when a fumble was recovered by Nick Collins and returned for a touchdown. On the replay it looked as though the Cowboys’ return man was down on the play, but the Cowboys could not challenge because they were out of timeouts.

Wade Phillips, the Cowboys head coach, was fired less than two days after the game. This wasn’t really shocking to anyone, considering how pathetically awful the Cowboys have been so far this season. Jason Garrett will now be the Cowboys head coach after being promoted from the offensive coordinator position.

It was a great WIN for the Packers as they can now feel confident heading into their bye week. Sadly, there is no Packer game next week – but I will be watching the Vikings-Bears game closely. Normally I would want both of these teams to lose, but if one has to win we should root for the Vikings because a victory for them could help the Packers build a lead on the second-place Bears in the NFC North division. Right now the Bears sit at 5-3, while the Packers are 6-3. The Vikings are 3-5.

Well, that’s all for this week – Check the video for the full highlights. and GO PACK GO!!
